FISH AND CHIPS 
1 1/2 lbs. fish fillets
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
4 potatoes, cut into 6 to 8 lengthwise wedges, washed & drained
1 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. flour
Shortening to fry with

Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper. Combine egg, milk, butter and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Add to flour and beat until smooth. Fry potatoes in shortening. Drain, salt and keep warm. Dip fish into batter and fry in same shortening until golden brown. Serve with malt vinegar or sauce.
