FRENCH APPLE COBBLER 
FILLING:

5 c. sliced apples
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. soft butter

BATTER:

1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. soft butter
1 egg, beaten

Filling: Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, vanilla and 1/4 cup water. Turn into 9"x9" baking pan. Dot with butter.

Batter: Combine all batter ingredients, beat until smooth. Drop batter in 9 portions over apples, spacing evenly. Batter will spread during baking.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes in 350 degree oven. Serve warm with whipped cream. Also good with ice cream.
