CROCK-POT APPLE BUTTER
Makes a great gift!

7 1/2 lb. ripe apples
6 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Core and peel apples (the peels can be left on for additional nutrients). Puree apples in food processor. Place apples in large Crock-Pot. Add sugar and spices. Stir.

Cook on LOW until thick, about 10 hours depending on how thick you want it (and how juicy the apples are). You can stir occasionally if you like. That seems to speed up the process a little.

Place in clean, sterile pint jars. Place rings/flats on and invert jars onto towel. As they cool they will seal. Keeps well in refrigerator.

Makes 5 pints.
