HAMBURGER CHOW MEIN | |
1 lb. hamburger 1 med. onion, chopped 2 tsp. salt - dash of pepper 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. brown gravy sauce 2 c. diced celery 1 1/2 c. water 2 cans bean sprouts, drained 1 sm. can mushrooms, drained 2 tbsp. water Brown meat and onion in large skillet. Add salt, pepper, celery, onions and water. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add rinsed bean sprouts and heat. Combine 2 tablespoons water, cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and brown gravy sauce. Add to hot meat mixture until thickened. Add mushrooms and heat. Serve hot over chow mein noodle or over steamed rice for chop[ suey. Use more soy sauce and brown gravy to taste. |
