2 c. cold water 1 c. rice 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. butter Put ingredients into a heavy saucepan with a tight fitting lid. Bring quickly to a boil. Reduce heat so that the water just simmers; cover and cook 14 minutes. Uncover and let stand until rice is dry and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Toss with a fork. Makes 3 cups (5 to 6 servings). |
