ITALIAN STEAK ON RICE 
1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut 3/4" thick
2 tbsp. lard or drippings
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
1/2 c. sliced onion
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/3 c. chili sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. water
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 c. sliced olives

Add mushrooms, onion and chopped green pepper to melted lard or drippings, cook 5 minutes. Blend in chili sauce, water, salt, pepper, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce and sliced olives.

Place steak in frying pan and pour sauce over it. Cover and bake in slow oven (300 degrees) for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender. Serve over rice. Makes 6 servings.
