CHEESE LOGS OR BALLS | |
6 oz. cream cheese 1/4 c. pickled onions Dash Worcestershire sauce 6 oz. Saga blue cheese 2 oz. unsalted butter Chopped nuts or parsley Crumble Saga cheese and blend with butter, cream cheese, sauce and pickled onions chopped up finely. Chill and form into a ball or a log, rolling in chopped nuts or parsley. Walnuts go very well with blue cheese. Refrigerate until serving time. These keep well. The same basic recipe can be made with grated cheddar cheese instead of blue cheese. Plain yogurt is a good softener, and hot sauce can be substituted for Worcestershire; pickle relish can be substituted for pickled onions, etc. Just don't use Velveeta or other substitute cheeses! |
