Corn on the Cob - Microwave

 Carla (Pennsylvania) says:
The corn itself was great, but be careful with the plastic wrap. Mine disintegrated and I had to scrape fragments off. (It's cheapie stuff and I bought it years ago because I use plastic wrap so rarely, but I don't think it has a half-life of 3 years.) Having it fully pre-buttered and salted, however, was wonderful!

I also used wax paper, to avoid having plastic laminated corn. They do sell microwaveable plastic wrap, though, so I will try that next.

I use damp paper towel. Wet a towel under the faucet, squeeze out the excess water and wrap around an ear of corn. Skip the butter until later. Cook as directed. Remove from microwave when done, discard towel and wrap in foil. Let stand 5 minutes and enjoy! Add salt and butter if you like.

I am using Glad Press N seal! I love it for other uses and didn't want to take a chance of having my cheap plastic wrap disintagrate!

I leave them in the husk, don't shuck them, and microwave on high for 5 minutes/ear of corn and let rest 2 minutes. Be careful when you shuck them !! There will be steam, but they taste much better, cooking from the inside out, in their own juices. Rub with a pat of butter...salt & pepper.. & ENJOY

I have used micro and plastic wrap for DECADES involving fresh corn-on-cob.
Place 2-3 ears on a place with a raised edge; add salt on cobs (cleaned of husk and silk). Add 1 TBSP of water to plate. Cover plate in plastic wrap. Poke a few tiny holes. Micro at 100% power for 2-3 minutes. DONE.
