TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground meat
1 chopped onion
1 chopped garlic
1 can tomatoes
1 can pitted black olives, juice & all
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
Salt & pepper to taste
Thyme, oregano, etc.
1 to 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 can creamed corn

Brown meat. Sauté onion and garlic in large saucepan. Add 1 can creamed corn, tomatoes, olives, juice and all. Mix eggs. Add milk, baking soda, salt and pepper, thyme, oregano, cornmeal and corn. Bring to boil. When thickened, pour into casserole and bake for 1 hour at 350°F. Remove from oven and spread cheese on top. Return to oven and bake until cheese melts.

Serves 6.
