APPLE BREAD 
BREAD:

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. peeled, diced apples

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, blending well. Stir in flour and salt. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream; add to batter, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and apples.

Spoon batter into a well-greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Cool.

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter, softened
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, cinnamon, and nuts. Mixture should resemble coarse crumbs. Sprinkle on top of batter before baking. Yield: 1 loaf.
