OLD FASHIONED SUGAR COOKIES (BROWN) | |
5 lbs. flour 2 c. Crisco, lard 2 lbs. brown sugar 2 c. white sugar 2 c. milk 4 eggs, beaten 3 tsp. baking soda 4 tsp. baking powder (omit if using cookie cutters) 1/4 c. vanilla Mix sugars and Crisco together cream. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and stir together. Combine flour, soda and baking powder to the wet mixture until a soft dough is formed enough to roll out and not stick. use 1 cup flour and 1 cup sugar mixture to roll out for cookies. Remember if using cookie cutter shapes omit the baking powder. This keeps your shapes. You can divide this dough and make several other cookies by adding: Raisins Coconut and chopped maraschino cherries Reese pieces for a peanut flavor Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. |
