STEVE'S CHILI | |
2 lg. onions, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 4 garlic cloves, minced 2 tbsp. oil 2 lbs. ground beef 1 1/2 lbs. dried beans (pinto, Northern (no kidney), soaked and cooked or use canned 2 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce 4 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes APPROXIMATIONS: 2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. chili powder 2 bay leaves 1/2 tsp. crushed red peppers 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper 3 tbsp. prepared mustard 1 to 2 cans beer 6 oz. chocolate chips Saute onion, green pepper, and garlic in oil. Brown ground beef and drain fat. Combine all ingredients, except chocolate chips. Simmer 2 to 3 hours. Adjust seasonings. 15 minutes before serving, add chocolate chips. Mix thoroughly. |
