TOFFEE BAR CAKE | |
1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 1 stick butter 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 8 or 10 chocolate covered toffee bars Combine brown and white sugar, butter and flour, reserve 1/2 cup mixture for topping. Beat together 1 egg with soda, buttermilk, and vanilla. Fold into crumbs but do not beat. Put into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with crumbs. Break candy bars by hitting with hammer before unwrapping. Sprinkle these over mixture in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream over top. |
