TOFFEE TOPPED CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Blend brown sugar, flour and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup of mixture and reserve. To remaining mixture add baking powder, salt, vanilla, milk and egg. Mix until smooth and well blended. Butter a 13"x9" cake pan. Turn batter into pan. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over batter evenly, then sprinkle chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan and center tests done.
