1 devil's food cake mix 5 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. Crisco 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Bake cake mix according to directions. Bake in 9 x 13 pan; invert pan after cooking 10 minutes and let cake thoroughly cool. Cut cake in half horizontally and take top portion off to be filled with below filling. Place top back on cake and refrigerate several hours before cutting. FILLING: Cook flour and milk until thickened. Cool. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Beat two mixture together until smooth and fluffy - spread on cake (bottom portion) and replace top of cake. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
