WESTERN CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef 2 tbsp. oil 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 c. chopped celery 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1 c. rice 2 1/2 c. tomatoes 2 tsp. salt 2 to 3 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Brown ground beef in oil in skillet; remove and set aside. Saute onion, celery, green pepper and rice in pan drippings until brown. Stir in tomatoes, 1 cup water, seasonings and ground beef. Bring to a boil. Spoon into medium casserole. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Yields 6 servings. |
