THREE STORY APPLE PIE | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cornstarch or plain flour 3 eggs (use the 3 yolks & 1 white) Cook 3/4 pound of dried apples. When all the water has cooked out, add 3 tablespoons of sugar and mix well. Cook and stir leaving no water. Cool, spread on the bottom of an unbaked pie shell. Smooth level, leaving no holes for the custard to leak through. Add the above custard mixture. Cook on 300 degrees until the custard is done. Add one tablespoon of warm water to the two egg whites. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Add two tablespoons of sugar; mix; spread over the custard and brown. This has been handed down in the McCulley family for generations. |
