AUNT BILL'S BROWN CANDY | |
6 c. sugar 2 c. milk 1 stick butter 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 2 lb. pecans Melt 2 cups sugar in iron skillet on low heat. When sugar begins to melt put 4 cups sugar, milk, and butter in a large saucepan. When mixture boils and sugar is completely melted, pour sugar slowly into milk mixture. Cook to firm ball stage. Stir in soda until it foams. Cool to lukewarm. Add vanilla, beat until it looses its gloss. Add nuts. Pour into buttered pan. |
