ROAST AND COLA 
3 or 4 lb. beef chuck roast
2-4 tbsp. flour
Garlic, salt and pepper
4 tbsp. shortening
1 cola-type carbonated beverage

Dredge roast in flour, salt, and pepper, brown in hot shortening about 15 minutes on each side. Open cola, pour over beef and place over low heat. Cover and allow to cook until desired doneness, or until medium tender. Serves 6 to 8. Garnish with vegetables.
