POTATO BUNS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1/2 c. hot mashed potatoes 1/4 c. shortening 1/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. scalded milk 1 egg 4-4 1/2 c. sifted flour Mix yeast in water and set aside. Combine potatoes, shortening, sugar, salt and scalded milk. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, egg and stir in 2 cups of flour. Beat well. Stir in remaining flour. Turn onto floured board and knead until elastic. Let rise in greased bowl, turning once, about an hour. Punch down and let rise again for 10-15 minutes. Punch down, roll and cut in shape and let rise again. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes. |
