APPLE CRISP | |
3 c. peeled and sliced apples 1 tsp. liquid artificial sweetener to equal 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. butter, melted 6 tbsp. toasted bread crumbs 3/8 tsp. liquid artificial sweetener 1/2 c. hot water 6 tbsp. crushed graham crackers Heat oven to 400 degrees. Place apples in pan. sprinkle with the first amount of liquid sweetener, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Blend melted butter, graham crackers and bread crumbs. Sprinkle over apples. Add second amount of sweeteneer to hot water and pour carefully over topping. Bake covered for 15 minutes. Uncover, and bake 15 or 20 minutes longer. Serves 6. Calories: 1 serving = 80 calories. Fat Controlled Diet: Prepared as directed, using butter, 1 serving = 3 grams fat. Diabetic and Calorie controlled diet: 1/2 cup = 1 bread exchange and 1/2 fat exchange. Sodium Controlled diet: 1 serving = 75 milligrams sodium. Prepared as directed, using unsalted butter and low sodium bread crumbs, 1 serving = 38 milligrams sodium. |
