SAUERKRAUT WITH SPARERIBS AND
SAUSAGE
 
1 lb. bacon, diced
2 lg. onions, chopped
2 lg. apples, cored and chopped
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 c. dry white wine
1/2 c. gin (optional)
6 (3 rib) spareribs, cut crosswise to make 12 pieces
6 pieces thick slices Canadian bacon OR
6 sm. pork chops
1-2 lb. smoked sausage, cut into chunks
2-3 lg. cans sauerkraut (undrained)

Saute bacon; add onions and saute 1 minute. Add kraut and apples; stir. Add wine, bouillon, and gin. Brown ribs and chops in oil; add sausage and other meats. Add to kraut, cover and simmer 1 hour. Stir and simmer 30 minutes more
