SPARERIBS AND SAUERKRAUT 
3 lbs. pork spareribs
2 (27 oz.) cans sauerkraut
2 (54 oz.) cans water
Salt and cayenne pepper to taste
1 onion, chopped
1 apple, quartered and cored
1/2 c. brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown ribs in a heavy skillet with small amount of fat. Place sauerkraut in Dutch oven. Add water and seasonings. Place ribs on top of kraut. Cover; cook 2 hours. Serves 6.
