TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/3 c. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour and sugar together. Combine butter, cocoa, shortening, and water in saucepan; bring to boil. Pour over dry ingredients and blend well. Stir in eggs, soda, buttermilk, and vanilla. Bake in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Start frosting 5 minutes before cake comes out of the oven by bringing butter, cocoa, and milk to a boil. Add powdered sugar, nuts, and vanilla. Pour frosting over hot cake.
