3/4 c. or 1 2/3 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water

Beat all ingredients together except water for 2 minutes. Add water, beat well. Pour into greased and lightly floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done.

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
1 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, milk and vanilla. Add powdered sugar.
