TEXAS HOT COCOA CAKE 
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 c. liquid shortening
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt shortening, butter, cocoa, and water; bring to a boil. Sift flour and sugar into a mixing bowl. Pour liquid over flour mixture - beat and add buttermilk, eggs, soda, cinnamon, and vanilla. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.

ICING:

1/4 lb. butter
2 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. cinnamon

Melt butter, cocoa, milk in a pan - do not boil. Stir in sugar, nuts, and vanilla. While cake is hot, pour icing over the cake.
