TAFFY 
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. any flavoring
Food coloring as desired

In a heavy saucepan mix together sugar and cornstarch. Stir in corn syrup, water, salt, and butter. Place over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves.

Cover pan and bring to boil for 2 or 3 minutes. Uncover; place thermometer in pan and cook to 260 degrees. Remove from heat and add flavoring and coloring. Stir gently.

Pour onto a greased shallow pan to cool. When able to handle, grease hands and pull until light in color. Pull into a rope; cut and wrap in waxed paper.
