POTATO BUNS | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. potato water 1 c. mashed potatoes 1 pkg. yeast 1 c. milk 1 c. melted shortening 1 egg Enough flour to stiffen Boil enough potatoes to make 1 cup mashed potatoes and 1 cup water. Put in large bowl: 1 cup potatoes, sugar, water, yeast and shortening; mix. Allow to cool, then add milk and egg; mix. Add flour to stiffen. Let rise until double, punch down. Shape into buns or loaves, let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown (10-12 minutes for buns). Butter the tops after baking. |
