SHORTCAKE BISCUITS 
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening with pastry blender. Add milk and mix well and place on floured board. Knead lightly, pat out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with round cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and chill until ready to bake. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) for 20 minutes. Serves 14.
