HOMEMADE YEAST BISCUITS 
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. warm water
5 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
5 c. plain flour
2 c. buttermilk

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and set aside. Combine the baking powder, salt, baking soda and flour. Cut in shortening; add the buttermilk, sugar and yeast mixture. Knead the dough slightly. Put in a covered bowl and refrigerate until chilled. Roll out dough and cut. Bake biscuits very slowly at 200 degree until golden brown.
