CARDAMOM TOAST 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk (or sour milk)
12 cardamom seeds, crushed fine
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter, sugar; add eggs and alternate milk and flour. Add crushed cardamom and almond flavoring. Dough will be thick. Put in loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. May also bake in a 9x13 inch.

Take from oven and let set 10 minutes. While still warm, slice and place on cookie sheet. Bake about 15 minutes at 275 degrees, turn over and bake 10-15 minutes more.

(Toast gets brown on underside first.)
