SAUERKRAUT CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
3 lg. onions
2 lg. cans sauerkraut
1 pt. sour cream
1/4 c. rice
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. butter
Paprika, salt & pepper

1ST LAYER: Saute 1 diced onion in 1 tablespoon butter. Add 2 cans sauerkraut. Stir mixture until blended.

2ND LAYER: Saute the beef, pork and one onion diced in one tablespoon butter. Add paprika, salt and pepper.

3RD LAYER: Saute one onion, diced in 1 tablespoon butter. Add water, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and add rice. Lower heat and cook 15 to 20 minutes.

Use a deep casserole. Add the first layer, the sauerkraut mixture. Add the meat mixture as second layer. Use the rice mixture as top layer. Pour one pint of sour cream and spread on top. Oven temperature: 350 degrees. Bake 40 minutes. Serve hot.
