NUTMEG POUND CAKE | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 3 c. sugar 5 eggs 3 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg; add alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture, beating until well blended after each addition. Pour batter into lightly greased and floured 9-inch tube pan; bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 1 hour or until done. |
