CHOCOLATE BROWNIE CAKE 
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 sticks butter, melted
1 cup water
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda, salt & vanilla

Sift together flour, sugar and cocoa; add melted butter and water. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Pour into greased, but not floured, pans. Use 1 (9x13-inch) pan and 1 (8 or 9-inch) square pan. Bake both together in oven at 400°F for 20 minutes. Batter will just cover bottom of pans.

ICING:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6-8 tbsp. milk
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Bring butter, cocoa and milk to boil. Take off heat. Add confectioners' sugar, vanilla and pecans. Pour over cake while cake is hot. If cake rises in middle, flatten with a spatula as soon as it comes out of the oven. Cut into brownie squares.
