BETTE'S GREEN BEANS 
2 pkg. frozen green beans (French style), partially cooked
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. grated onion
1 c. sour cream
1 c. water chestnuts, sliced
Grated Swiss cheese

Melt butter, add flour, salt, sugar and onion. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add sour cream and cook until thick. Add to partially cooked green beans. Add water chestnuts. Pour into baking dish and bake in oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, covered with foil. Remove foil, add cheese over top. Return to oven and bake 20 to 30 minutes, uncovered. Double recipe fills 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Can be prepared the day before.
