OLD-FASHIONED MOLASSES CHEWS 
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup Brer Rabbit molasses or syrup
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. butter
2 cups shredded coconut

Combine syrup, molasses, vinegar and butter. Place over low heat and stir until mixture boils. Continue boiling to 240°F or until small amount of syrup becomes brittle in cold water. Remove from heat; add coconut. Drop from 2 forks on greased surface.

Note: A candy thermometer is recommended.

Makes 28 chews.
