STEAMED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage
1 can tomatoes
3 strips of bacon
3 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. sugar
Salt
Pepper

Shred head of cabbage. Cook cabbage until tender. Drain water from cabbage and put in pot. Add tomatoes (chop tomatoes with knife). Fry bacon; add dripping, vinegar and sugar to cabbage, salt and pepper to taste. Crunch bacon. Add to above. Cook uncovered for about 45 minutes over medium heat.
