1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
Salt, pepper, thyme, oregano and sage or season as you prefer
1 med. onion
1 med. green pepper (optional)
1 lb. fresh mushrooms or 1 can, drained
1 lg. can pork and beans
6 slices bacon

Place 3 strips bacon on bottom of casserole or loaf pan. Mix meat, seasonings and onion and pepper; place 2/3 meat mixture in pan; making a well. Place in well, mushrooms. Seal with remaining meat mix. Place remaining bacon on top; cover all with beans. Bake at least 1 1/2 hours in 350 degree oven.
