BUSY WOMAN MEAL | |
This is a simple dish that is made for the busy woman, whether she is going to work or to all-day society meetings. 1 lg. chuck steak with bone (frozen) 1 env. Lipton's beefy-onion soup mix Salt (to taste) Pepper (to taste) 4-6 c. water Aluminum foil Do not use London Broil or other better cuts of meat - they do not work as well. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Remove wrappings from chuck steak and place in pan that is a little larger than steak, usually 9 x 12 x 2 1/2-inch will do. Sprinkle soup mix around the steak, sprinkle salt and pepper on meat and add enough water to pan to almost cover meat. Cover pan securely with aluminum foil so that steam will not evaporate. Place in oven and cook for at least 6 to 8 hours at 250 degrees. Meat will fall away from the fat and the bone. Gravy can be made from the stock in the pan, but it is very greasy. The meat is very tasty served by itself with a side dish. |
