MARINERA SAUCE 
2 lbs. onions, finely chopped
5 tbsp. garlic, minced (or garlic salt)
1 pt. oil
10 (No. 1) cans tomato puree
10 (No. 2) cans Italian tomatoes
2 tsp. crushed sweet basil leaves
2 tsp. crushed oregano leaves
2 bay leaves

Saute onions in oil for approximately 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add garlic and cook approximately 5 minutes longer. Add tomatoes, puree and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, 2 hours. Yield: 2 gallons.
