BLITZ TORTE 
4 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. milk

Beat egg yolks well. Cream together the butter and sugar and add the beaten egg yolks. Beat this until creamy. Add flour, baking powder and milk. Work this together well; spread on bottom of two 8 inch pans.

Beat egg whites stiff. Gradually add 1 cup of granulated sugar and beat until thick. Spread this on each layer. The layer to be used on top of torte should be sprinkled with walnut meats. Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Use lemon, pineapple or whip cream between the layers. The meringue should be on the bottom and the top of torte.
