VERY FAIL CHRISTMAS ROCKS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. strong coffee
1/2 c. currants
1 c. lg. seedless raisins
1 lb. pecan pieces
1/4 c. sliced candied cherries
1/4 lb. candied pineapple
1/4 lb. candied citron
1/4 lb. candied dates
1/4 lb. candied orange peel or grapefruit peel

Cut fruit into small slivers and dredge slightly in a little flour (part of the 3 cups). Cream sugar and butter, add well beaten eggs, beat well blended. Sift flour with rest of ingredients and stir into the mixture. Add coffee and dredge fruit. Mix fruit and pecans into batter with your hands.

Drop by teaspoonsful on slighlty greased cookie sheet (not too close, they will spread).

Bake 12 to 18 minutes in 325 degree oven. Do not cook to dark brown - cool on wire cake cooler. Do not store in container with other items. These get better with age.
