GARLIC PICKLES 
3 c. lg. cloves, peeled
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. distilled white vinegar
Pickles

Combine vinegar, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add garlic cut in 1/2-inch pieces. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes.

Pour over pickles placed in clean jars and refrigerate for at least 1 day. Flavor increases with time, and pickles may be kept 2 months.
