Betty Crocker German chocolate cake

Mix cake according to directions. Pour 1/2 of mixture into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Have prepared 16 ounce Kraft caramels, 3/4 cup butter, and 1/2 cup Carnation milk (melt this in double boiler). Take out of oven; top baked half with 1 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate morsels, 1/2 cup chopped pecans, and melted caramel mixture. Top with remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until done.
