BEEF STEW (MICROWAVE) 
2 lbs. boneless beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 c. water, divided
1 env. onion soup mix
4 med. carrots, thinly sliced
2 potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1 bay leaf
1 (8 oz.) can green peas, drained
1/4 c. flour (optional)
1 tsp. minced garlic
Pepper to taste

In a 4 quart casserole, combine beef, 1 1/2 cups water, soup mix, carrots, potatoes and bay leaf. Cover with lid. Microwave on High 10 minutes and at Medium-Low for 55-60 minutes, or until tender. Stir occasionally. Add peas and flour blended with remaining 1/2 cup water. Microwave on High 5-7 minutes, or until stew is thickened; stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf before serving. Serves 8.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
