CINNAMON APPLES 
4 to 5 lg. Rome Beauty apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cinnamon red hot candies
1 c. water

Core and peel apples leaving about a 2 inch ring around center of apples.

Meanwhile, in a large heat-proof dish (Corning) that will hold all the apples, heat the last 3 ingredients (stirring occasionally) until candies are completely melted. Place apples in dish, cover and steam until apples are tender, basting with syrup several times during cooking. Do not over-cook or apples will fall apart.
