BEANS WITH WATER CHESTNUTS 
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/4 c. salad oil
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 (9 oz.) pkgs. frozen French style green beans
2 tsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Saute water chestnuts in oil until golden brown; add soy sauce, frozen green beans and sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until beans are just tender-crisp and still bright green; separate with a fork as they defrost. Serves 6-8.
