KRAUT AND DUMPLINGS 
2 lbs. spare ribs
1 qt. sauerkraut
4 eggs
1/4 c. milk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Cook spare ribs in water until meat falls from bones. Remove bones. Add kraut. When this begins to boil, drop dumplings by teaspoonfuls into the boiling liquid. To make dumplings, beat eggs and milk with fork until well blended. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Blend with work. This dough will be stiff. Drop dumplings by teaspoonfuls into boiling liquid. Cover and cook until dumplings are cooked through; approximately 15 minutes. Do not remove lid while they are cooking. These dumplings are quite firm.
