COMPANY CASSEROLE 
8 oz. pkg. noodles
1 lb. ground meat
3 tbsp. butter
16 oz. tomato sauce
1 c. cottage cheese
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 c. chopped green onion
1/2 to 1 tsp. garlic powder (depending on your taste)
Salt and pepper to taste

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brown ground beef. Add garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix well. Add tomato sauce and simmer for half an hour, stirring occasionally.

Mix sour cream, cream cheese and cottage cheese together in bowl, blending well. Cream cheese is best when room temperature. Add chopped green onion and mix well with fork.

Cook noodles in salted water, al dente (firm), drain and mix with 2 remaining tablespoons of butter.

In casserole, start with a bit of meat sauce, add a layer of noodles, then a layer of cheese mixture. Repeat procedure, ending with a layer of meat on top. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

This casserole is not light and has a definite garlic and onion flavor. Accompany it with a tossed salad topped with oil and vinegar dressing and either red or white wine. Seems to be a real favorite with the men!
