CREAM CHEESE FROSTING 
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
11 oz. (8 oz. + 3 oz. pkg.) cream cheese, softened
6 3/4 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Cream the butter and cream cheese. Gradually beat in the sifted sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla. Frost between layers, top and sides of cake. Sprinkle top with chopped walnuts or pecans, if desired.
